The Mother City’s art enthusiasts are in for four jam-packed days of immersive and provocative culture with the University of Cape Town’s Institute for Creative Arts (ICA)’s prestigious Live Arts Festival (LAF) from 4 to 7 September 2024. The festival takes place at the centrally located UCT Hiddingh Campus in Gardens.

 

Coinciding with First Thursdays on 5 September is a performance programme titled Live Art Arcade. Tickets are R20, available via Quicket (see ‘Website’ link).

99 Loop Gallery is a contemporary art space founded in 2015 and based in Cape Town, South Africa. The gallery has a particular curatorial focus on painting and prioritises collaboration with both established and emerging local talent.

 

Functioning as an accessible platform, 99 Loop supports creatives whose practices engage with intimate lived experiences situated within larger cultural and aesthetic contexts. The gallery manages an exhibition program that aims to be subversive of the conventional and dynamic in its essence.
