Lafenis in die droogte is a compilation of photos and stories that follow the recent and never-ending devastation of the drought still experienced by so many in our country. Photo journalist Marzahn Botha takes the reader on a journey to places like the Boesmanland, deep Namaqualand and other drought-stricken areas around the country, and illustrates through drone visuals and text the devastation caused by water shortage. But it also tells the story of how the farmers and rural communities have come together to support and carry each other, to rise and flourish once more. Not just a documentary of hope and sadness in a time of extreme drought on farms, this story conveys a message of hope and brings to light how the rural landscape and its people were affected and how it has sliced through the farmers' raw emotions.
