Join artist Odette Graskie for a full exhibition walkabout at 6-6.30pm and 7.30-8pm of her solo exhibition Side Quest. In between and afterwards Odette will be guiding activations with an interactive game that leads one throughout the exhibition and gallery.
"Side Quest involves a Side Quest! If you visit you will be greeted by the mission, the bells and the exhibition. The quest - to answer the questions in the page - is rewarded with a secret manuscript - a zine! The Zine is a form of alt publication, where the idea is the main focus, the physical object is secondary. It is a way to spread an idea or a concept or a revolutionary manifesto to as many people as possible, in an easily reproducible way."
Side Quest is a body of work by Odette Graskie that showcases a visual narrative of her natural gravitation towards human connection, play, poetry and curiosity. Layered with an obsessiveness in exploring mediums through portraiture - in this reflective method of making, Graskie shifts towards her own curiosity about her practice (currently and as far as her childhood) as the driving force. This in itself serves as a “side quest” for Graskie in exploring a more nuanced view of human interaction and her role in this.
The exhibition is on display from 26 October to 25 January 2025.
