Chandler House is a small design studio and shop located in the heart of Cape Town’s bustling CBD. The 18th century Cape Georgian building houses both the Voorkamer Gallery and the shop itself. Monthly exhibitions take place in the Voorkamer Gallery whilst the shop is filled with locally-made homeware, artisanal gifts, antiques, textiles and a wide selection of fine art.
Chandler House is the brainchild of Michael Chandler who opened the shop doors in December of 2013. What began as a platform for showcasing his designs soon grew to include other Cape artists and makers.

This print series presents a selective look into the prevalent pseudo-journalistic trend termed Clickbait.
Clickbait is a pejorative term describing web content that is aimed at generating online advertising revenue, especially at the expense of quality or accuracy, relying on sensationalist headlines or eye-catching pictures to attract click-throughs and to encourage forwarding of the material over online social networks. Clickbait headlines typically aim to exploit the "curiosity gap", providing just enough information to make readers curious, but not enough to satisfy their curiosity without clicking through to the linked content.
As the artist looking in, my intention has been to depict the visual and literary devices used in Clickbait through the aesthetic of printmaking. In recontextualizing and reimagining the content taken from various digital platforms, I have attempt to address some of the ways in which Clickbait devicely exploits the general consumers inherent 'lazy brain' inclination and the psychology of the human 'curiosity gap’.
