214 Buitengracht Street, Cape Town
18:00 - 22:00
Cape Town based artist Lars J. Fischedick invites his German colleagues Christian F. Kintz and Mathias Hornung to interfere together in an industrial space in Corbeau.
The three artists reflect on the interdependencies between being a foreigner in a country, being foreign to each other, intervening artistically in a foreign space.
The notion of "interference" is therefore stretched artistically in all its meanings. Interference has both negative and positive connotations: in music it describes a prolific overlay of soundwaves; in political sense it means unwanted influence. How can interference be visualized in non figurative artistic language and which different views do the three artists represent?
The title's wordplay of English and German terms signalizes the arc of suspense between music considerations and cultural-political encounters.
