The Ladder Traditional Arts Studio was established by Nicholas and Anastasia Esterhuizen with the goal of nurturing an appreciation of traditional arts and craftsmanship from around the world. Through workshops, exhibitions and events we hope that by studying and applying what we learn from art traditions of the past and present, we will be able to re-discover the beauty of the order of nature and re-apply this beauty and harmony to our daily lives and broader community.
'Beauty for Ashes', is a collection of images captured across the continent from Ethiopia, Ghana and South Africa.
Dan has produced a series of photographic work as an emotive response to the idea that you can breathe life into dry bones and raise from the dead something that was once broken.
The exhibition opening is on the 2 of September and runs the entire month at The Ladder on 136 Bree Street.
The exhibition is open to the public on First Thursdays from 19:00 to 21:30
